By mid-September,
leaves are beginning to turn, and drop,
while the vegetable garden yields its bounty.

Fallen leaves begin to clutter the lawn ...	... while summer flowers are replaced by Fall asters.
Impatients continue to flower in the window boxes, not yet a victim of frost ...	.... but pumpkins and squash speak in colorful silence of the change of seasons.
Cornstalks have yielded their field fresh corn.	In nearby Newfane, the historic courthouse is flanked by an early turning maple tree.
Beans, gourds and sweet peppers are samples of the produce from the warm summer ...	... while more pumpkins and squash in the lower field await harvesting.
