Programs and Services

All Putney residents are eligible for a free library card
and access to our collection of over 15,000 items, which includes:

  • Virtually any book on any subject - in our collection or through Inter-library Loan
  • Newspapers
  • Magazines
  • DVD's (new and growing collection for kids/adults)
  • Videotapes (educational and recreational)
  • Audio books (kids/teens/adults)
  • Large print books
  • Virtually any book on any subject - through Inter-library Loan
  • Access to the Vermont Online Library - a variety of research databases
  • Five public computers with high speed internet access
  • Printer and photocopy machine - 10 cents per page

These are our regular, ongoing programs. Special events will be posted at the library as they are planned. If you would like to help with one or more of these programs, please call the library.

Book discussion group
The book group meets the second Sunday of each month, 7:00-8:30 PM at the library. Open to all.

Stories from Around the World
Songs, stories and crafts every Tuesday at 10:30 AM for preschoolers ages 0-5. Storytime does not run in the summer, but there are special events related to the Summer Reading Program listed below. Co-sponsored by the PCS Early Education Outreach Program.

Annual Plant and Book Sale
Proceeds support library operations. The sale is held every May, but book, video and audio donations are accepted year round.
